Rodenstock B.I.G. Vision™ Lenses in Glenelg

Every person’s eyes are unique. Eye length and shape vary from one person to another and between each eye. Standard spectacle lenses are often designed using average eye models. These models may not reflect individual eye anatomy.

Rodenstock B.I.G. Vision™ lenses are designed using enhanced eye data. This approach allows lenses to be calculated in a way that better reflects how each person’s eyes focus light.

What are B.I.G. Vision™ lenses?

B.I.G. Vision™ stands for Biometric Intelligent Glasses. These lenses are designed using biometric information or advanced eye models.

Key features of these lenses include:

  • Designed using more than standard prescription values
  • Calculated to reflect individual eye characteristics
  • Intended to support clear, stable vision in daily use

Rodenstock offers different B.I.G. Vision™ lens options, depending on the level of eye data available.

B.I.G. EXACT™ and B.I.G. NORM™ lenses

Rodenstock provides two approaches within the B.I.G. Vision™ range.

B.I.G. EXACT™

  • Uses detailed biometric eye measurements
  • Measurements are taken with Rodenstock’s DNEye® scanner
  • Thousands of data points are captured from each eye
  • Lens design is calculated to closely match individual eye anatomy

B.I.G. NORM™

  • Uses an AI-based biometric eye model
  • Designed when detailed biometric measurements are not available
  • Calculations are based on standard eye exam data
  • Offers enhanced precision compared with conventional lens designs

Both options aim to improve how lenses interact with the eye.

How B.I.G. Vision™ lenses differ from standard lenses

Traditional lenses are designed using simplified eye models. These models work well for some people but may not account for individual differences.

B.I.G. Vision™ lenses are designed to

  • Consider variations in eye length and optical behaviour
  • Support consistent vision across different gaze directions
  • Provide a more natural visual experience

This design approach reflects a more personalised direction in modern eye care.
